In this poster, the dennotaions is a man standing on some stairs infront of a fire. The connotations are thats there is a fire, so there must be danger, especially when there is a skull in the fire. The charater is standing in a very ready to fight posture with his fists clenched. I can tell by his costume he is an explorer/archeologist he is wearing an explorers hat, with a half done up shirt which looks dirty and worn out. the colours of his costume are very neutral he is wearing browns and chaki. He has a whip in his hand, and a gun strapped to him, this tells the audience that he is ready to fight danger.
